Force restart
A frozen phone can look like a dead screen. On iPhone 8 and later: volume up, volume down, then hold the side button until the logo shows.
Peel the protector
Lift one corner of the tempered glass. Cracks, ghost touch and call-screen problems are sometimes just the protector.
